On April 12,2024– The Belt and Road Water and Environment Cooperation Forum was held in Jiangyin, hosted by ANSO Environmental Science and Technology Industry Alliance, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS)-Center of Excellence in Water and Environment of Academy of Sciences for the Developing World (CASD), and organized by Zhong Guan Cun Zhongke Water and Environmental Protection Technology Innovation and Promotion Center, and Water Industry Market Media Platform. Dr. Wenchao Xue, Director of Belt and Road Research Center of AIT, attended this forum.
The meeting centered on how to strengthen the “Belt and Road” environmental governance and promote cooperation in ecological and environmental science and technology innovation, aiming to enhance the understanding of Chinese enterprises on the water market in developing countries, promote technological exchanges and cooperation between China and developing countries, help developing countries to enhance the capacity of water and environmental governance, and promote the export of experience, technology, standards, models and products of Chinese enterprises to overseas market.
Dialogues and discussions on how to rely on technological innovation to promote the ‘Belt and Road’ international cooperation in the environmental field were carried out. Dr. Wenchao Xue gave a speech online on the topic “Thailand’s Water Environment Management and Belt and Road Cooperation: Challenges and Opportunities”. There were more than 100 representatives from research institutes, universities, and enterprises in China and around the world attended the forum.
