On November 30th, 2023 – BRRC attended the Seminar on BRI New Energy Vehicle Low Carbon Standards Research and Demonstration Project organized by China Automotive Technology and Research Center. The purpose of this seminar is to encourage discussions and communications regarding new energy vehicle industry development, through enhancing low carbon standards researches, promoting regional and international collaborations under the Belt and Road Initiative. The seminar demonstrated the significance of combining researches with industrial advancement in the field of new energy, and corporation development and local policies on low carbon standards in the process of promoting BRI projects. Mr. Mingnan Zhao, Director of China Automotive Carbon(Beijing) Digital Technology Center Co., Ltd attend the seminar and gave the welcome speech. Mr. Min Zhang, Deputy Secretary and Director of BRIGC introduced the background the New Energy Vehicle Low Carbon Standards Research and Demonstration Project.

This seminar not only introduced the progress of the BRI New Energy Vehicle Low Carbon Standards Research and Demonstration application project, it help the participants better understand the situations of China-ASENA Standardization Cooperation Research in Automobile field, EV market and Electric Bus development in Latin America, the interconnected emission reduction in both upper stream and downstream of Automobile industry along the Belt and Road region, current status and challenges of low carbon vehicle development in Indonesia, the challenges faced in upgrading the EV industry and reducing emission in global value chain along the Belt and Road region, and the Singapore’s vehicle carbon emission regulations and effects which is an example to learn about the situation in southeast Asia countries.
