On June 12th, 2024 – Visitors from Shanghai Academy of Social Science, China(SASS) led by Professor Zhou Fengqi, Director of the Institute of Ecology and Sustainable Development, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, and Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology, Malaysia(TAR UMT) led by Professor Chin Mui Yin, Head of the Centre For Postgraduate Studies And Research, TAR UMT, visited Asian Institute of Technology and Belt and Road Research Center. Dr. Sun Kege, SASS, Dr. Luo Liheng, SASS, and Dr. Wu Meng, SASS and Dr. Foo Lee Peng, Chairperson of the Centre for Business and Policy Research, TAR UTM and Mr. Kon Yee Qin, Department of Economics & Corporate Administration, TAR UTM, were in the visiting group.
A preliminary communication was conducted among the tree parties during this visit. The discussions mainly focus on “The opportunities and challenges that Green Belt and Road Construction brings to Belt and Road member countries” and “Developing green economy and achieving the goal of win-win and mutual benefit and harmonious coexistence with the ecological environment from policy, regional collaboration, and technological application perspectives”. Suggestions on how to further deepen the cooperation between Belt and Road, and collaborating in emerging trends and potential opportunities, were also brought up during the meeting.
