From July 1st to July 5th, 2025- AIT BRRC successfully organized a specialized summer program for a delegation of students and faculty from the College of Environmental and Resource Sciences at Zhejiang University (ZJU). The five-day program, designed to foster international perspective and competency development, provided an immersive experience in sustainable development and cross-cultural exchange in Thailand.

Leveraging AIT’s six-decade legacy in regional sustainability and academic excellence, the BRRC curated a comprehensive curriculum that combined expert academic sessions with hands-on field visits. The program aimed to equip the next generation of environmental leaders with a deeper understanding of regional challenges and sustainable solutions.
The program featured several core components, meticulously planned by the BRRC to ensure a rich learning experience: Expert Lecture given by distinguished experts from AIT and Mahidol University on the latest research in environmental and resource sciences.


Field Visit to Mangrove Ecosystem including the Sirinart Rajini Mangrove Ecosystem Learning Center, the Phetchaburi coastal area to study coastal erosion, mangrove conservation, and watershed ecosystems firsthand and the Laem Phak Bia Environmental Research and Development Project, initiated by the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, showcasing sustainable wastewater and solid waste treatment methods.



Government Dialogue: The delegation held an insightful exchange with officials from the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources of Thailand to understand national strategies and administrative challenges.



Cross-Cultural Immersion: The international environment at AIT provided a unique platform for students to build cultural confidence and enhance their communication skills.

Group Task and Presentation: A capstone group project challenged students to apply their learning, fostering teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving abilities, with presentations made to faculty and experts.
The summer program underscores BRRC’s commitment to strengthening academic collaboration and people-to-people bonds between Thailand and China, building a shared future for sustainable development by empowering the young generation.
