On Feb 25th, 2025 – A group of delegation led by the Vice President of the Development Research Institute (EDRI), China South Power Grid (CSG), Mr. Yang Xiongping, visited Asian Institute of Technology Belt and Road Research Center. Dr. Wenchao Xue, Director of BRRC, Associate Professor, Academic Chair of Environment Engineering and Management, SET, AIT, cordially welcomed the group.
The Development Research Institute (EDRI) under China South Power Grid (CSG), plays a pivotal role in advancing regional energy cooperation and sustainable development, particularly in the Lancang-Mekong (LM) region and beyond. This visit and meeting laid a foundation for future collaboration between the two sides in energy connectivity and green transition across southeast Asia and South Asia, through activities including research projects, capacity building programs, expert exchanges, etc. The intension and initiative for cooperation fit well with the mission of Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) in the regions, which will be facilitated by the strengths of the two institutions.
