On December 10th, 2024 – A group of delegation from the Transport Planning and Research Institute of Ministry of Transport of China visited Asian Institute of Technology Belt and Road Research Center. The delegation was led by Dr. Liu Jie, Deputy Director of the Environmental Research Institute, the Transport Planning and Research Institute. Dr. Zhi Xiahui, Dr. Zhang Liguo and Dr. Yang Xiaowen from the Department of Waterborne and Department of Environment and Resources, Transport planning and Research Institute Ministry of Transport, were in the delegation. Dr. Wenchao Xue, Director of BRRC, Associate Professor, Academic Chair of Environment Engineering and Management, SET, AIT, cordially welcomed the group and introduced related works done by AIT and BRRC during the meeting. Discussion mainly focused on the sustainable development of the Lancang-Mekong Basin ecosystem. Potential research collaboration between the two organizations in related fields has been discussed in this communication.
