On July 11th,2024– Asian Institute of Technology Belt and Road Research Center organized Academic Exchange Seminar for professors and students from Zhejiang University, College of Environment and Resources and Ocean College. The visiting and participants’ group, including 41 students, were led by Prof. Luo Yu and Prof. Ma Bin, College of Environment, Zhejiang University.
Special thematic lectures were given by experts from Asian Institute of Technology. One lecture was delivered by Dr. Anish Ghimire, Environmental Engineering and Management program, AIT, on the topic of “Prediction of Wastewater Treatment Plant Effluent Quality Using Machine Learning Algorithms: A Case Study of Guheshwori Wastewater Treatment Plant in Nepal”; Another special thematic lecture was delivered by Dr. Natthachet Tangdamrongsub, Water Engineering and Management program, AIT, on the topic of “Asian Land Information for Climate and Environmental Research”; A special experience sharing speech was given by Zhejiang University Alumnus, Mr. Yi Yu, General Manager of Water Sentient Co., LTD. In Thailand, a subsidiary company of Waterhealer Co. Ltd in China, focusing on wastewater treatment.
During the morning sessions, participants actively took part in the questions and discussion sessions. Students also gave fruitful and very interesting presentations on topics of water, resource and environment by group as a conclusion on what have been learned during their trip.
