On May 13th, 2024 – The 4th China – Thailand Think Tank Forum hosted by National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) and Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), was held in National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), Bangkok, Thailand. The topic is “China-Thailand One Close Family to Establish a Shared Community for an Everlasting Future”. Themes of the event include Thailand-China Free Visa Policy to Tourism Industry, Thailand-China Future Cooperation in Education, Chinese Modernization to Thailand’s Development. Ms. Sai Tang, Program Officer and Ms. Mutita Wattanasuk, research associate of BRRC AIT participated the event. Participants of this event include of Thailand delegates from Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) and National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), Chinese delegates from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and Embassy of The People’s Republic of China in The Kingdom of Thailand.
The 4th China – Thailand Think Tank Forum is the 4th joint think tank forum held between NRCT and CASS In Thailand following the first three in Beijing China. The forum is under the Agreement for Academic Cooperation in September 2000 signed by the two parties in order to promote collaboration in social studies between Thailand and China through exchanges of researchers, joint research projects, publication exchanges, and the organization of annual seminars hosted alternately by the two countries. In 2023, the CASS-NRCT Center of Chinese Studies was established and located at NRCT, Thailand to strengthen the ties between NRCT and CASS. The Forum is one promoting activities related to the development of knowledge about Thailand – China through the organisation of exhibitions, conferences, studies, seminars and thematic courses, the development of joint research projects, as well as the publication of academic articles.
