On June 27th 2023 – A delegation from Beijing Normal University (BNU), led by Prof. Hongguang Cheng, Dean and Professor College of Water Sciences, along with Prof. Yongshuo Fu, Vice Dean and Professor, Prof. How Yong Ng, Professor, and Meixuan Li, Foreign Affairs Secretary, have conducted a preliminary communication with Prof. Kazuo Yamamoto, President of Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). AIT faculty members led by Dr. Wenchao Xue, Director of AIT Belt and Road Research Center (AIT BRRC), Associate Professor in Environmental Engineering and Management, Professor Abdul Salam, Dean of the School of Environment, Resources, and Development (SERD), Professor Dieter Trau, Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology (SET) and Prof. Thammarat Koottatep, EECC/SERD, Co-director of Global Water & Sanitation Center (GWSC).
The discussions encompassed a wide range of collaboration opportunities, including joint research projects, faculty exchange programs, and initiatives to facilitate student mobility. Both parties emphasized the significance of identifying common research interests and complementary areas of expertise.
